Health Technician Cultural
Facilitate sweat lodge, talking circles, and other cultural and spiritual functions in the youth treatment facility. Document all services consistent with applicable IHS/ UHYRTC, state laws and regulations, and accrediting body policies and procedures. Work directly with local spiritual practitioners, the education department, with adolescent residents, parents, tribal alcohol programs and tribal social services to help insure resident's positive treatment outcome. To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Qualifications:
GS-06:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level. Example of Specialized

experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience defined GS-06:
Experience and ability to provide comprehensive services to adolescents requiring treatment for alcohol and other drug abuse and dependency, to resolve related problems, and to establish a lifelong recovery process; assisting in resident placement, and assisting with aftercare planning and follow-up services; skill in cultural awareness and knowledge of traditional values to include cultural and historical information, core ceremonial and spiritual functions and social activities. Specialized Experience Further Defined:
Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
